The CEO class visited McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville, where we were hosted by Tyler McGriff. Tyler shared that the funeral home has been a part of the Louisville community since 1948—a long-standing legacy that he is proud to continue. Although it’s a profession that many people might find difficult, Tyler expressed a deep passion for his work, explaining that for him, it’s not about the loss but about giving families peace and comfort during a hard time.
We toured the facility and saw several areas of the funeral home, including the service room, the casket display room, and the preparation area where embalming and cosmetic work are done. It was eye-opening to learn about the behind-the-scenes details involved in planning and carrying out a funeral service—things most people never see or think about.
Tyler also explained how he adds personal touches to make his services unique, setting McGriff Funeral Home apart from others. He takes pride in helping people through one of the most difficult times in their lives.
Thank you, Tyler, for taking time to meet with Clay County CEO!
