This week, our CEO class had the opportunity to hear from Alex Pleasant, President of Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation, as he shared his insights and experiences with us.

Alex also taught us more about nonprofits and the work SICF does throughout our area. We learned that they help connect people who want to give back with organizations and projects that can make a difference in their communities. It was interesting to see another side of business and learn that success isn’t always measured by how much money you make, but sometimes by the impact you can make on others.

One of my biggest takeaways from Alex’s presentation was the importance of taking the time to realize what you truly want to do with the rest of your life. Finding that sense of direction early on can shape everything that follows. Another valuable lesson he shared was how critical it is to ask the hard questions now, putting in the thought and effort today to save yourself from unnecessary hardship and strain down the road.

Thank you, Alex Pleasant, for taking the time to speak with our class and for sharing such impactful wisdom with us!
