Our CEO class recently traveled to Effingham, IL to visit Legacy Harley-Davidson, where we heard from General Manager Clint Kuhns. We were also joined by Fayette County CEO, making it a great opportunity to connect beyond county lines.
Clint shared his journey into the business, the history of Harley-Davidson, and what it takes to lead a successful dealership. Students toured the facility, explored the showroom, and learned about the strong culture behind the brand — including the fact that nearly every employee owns a bike, and Clint himself has owned 20!
Some student takeaways from the visit include:
🔹 “Business looks different depending on the size of the area you serve. The larger the market, the greater the opportunity — but strong sales skills are always essential.”
🔹 “Good processes matter.”
Visits like this help students see that successful businesses aren’t built by chance — they’re built through leadership, systems, culture, and strong communication.
Thank you to Clint Kuhns at Legacy Harley-Davidson for investing your time in Clay County CEO!
